Overview
When one of the largest U.S. operators of truck stops and travel centers set out to modernize its systems, they turned to a trusted partner: GForce. Over the past seven years, the relationship grew from solving a single reporting issue to guiding large-scale transformation initiatives. That foundation led to one of the most ambitious projects in the company’s history: upgrading from Lawson v10 to Infor CloudSuite FSM after more than 30 years on Lawson.
This was far more than a technology project. At the same time, the organization was preparing to go public, which required stronger security, clearly defined processes, and full SOX compliance. GForce partnered throughout the process to ensure the transition not only delivered modernization but also gave leadership confidence heading into the public market.

The Challenge
Decades of reliance on Lawson created a highly customized and fragmented environment that was increasingly difficult to scale. The client needed to overhaul core business processes, implement a new chart of accounts, migrate terabytes of data, and train more than 200 users, all while preparing for the scrutiny of auditors and investors.
Without a successful transformation, the organization risked delays to its IPO, compliance issues, and long-term inefficiencies that would hold back growth.
The Solution
GForce brought a combination of proven expertise, industry knowledge, and flexibility. The approach emphasized collaboration with leadership, end users, and Big Four audit partners (PwC, EY, Deloitte), ensuring the project met both operational and compliance requirements.
Key elements of the solution included:
- Implemented Infor CloudSuite FSM, replacing more than 30 years of Lawson systems
- Redesigned business processes, deployed a new chart of accounts, and modernized integrations
- Migrated and cleansed terabytes of legacy data with accuracy and integrity
- Delivered progressive training for 200+ end users, ensuring readiness ahead of go-live
- Led change management with executive sponsorship, proofs of concept, pilots, and continuous testing to build end-user confidence
- Adopted a team-oriented delivery model, bringing in specialized skills at each stage
- Coordinated across multiple consulting partners and methodologies to align on SOX compliance and IPO readiness
- Applied a hybrid consulting model with consultants onsite at critical milestones (CRP, SIT, go-live) and remote collaboration to reduce costs
Customer Perspective
Change is always a challenge in large organizations, but leadership recognized that GForce made the process manageable, collaborative, and ultimately successful. By combining technical expertise with flexibility and clear communication, GForce was seen not just as an implementer but as a trusted partner who helped deliver one of the most complex system upgrades in the company’s history.
